Zero Waste Hour (October, 2021)

4th Zero Waste Hour for FY 2021-2022

The National Environment Commission Secretariat (NECS) in collaboration with Thimphu Thromde and Guide Associations of Bhutan (GAB) organized and observed the monthly Zero Waste Hour (ZWH) on 2nd October 2021. During the ZWH event, the participants collected around 30 sacks of waste. The participants covered the stretch from Tarayana Building to Lungtenzampa Bridge, covering the wide area of Changlimithang parking and Centenary Farmers Market.

The aim of this initiative is to set an example to the public that waste management is a collective responsibility of all and every individual.  "My Waste, My Responsibility "  has to be invoked in the mindset of every individual to achieve Zero Waste Bhutan.

Zero Waste Hour was also observed by the Royal Audit Authority, Cabinet Secretariat, and National Biodiversity Center on the same day.
